(in English) Japan is facing a growing number of older adults and people with dementia, and forgetting where everyday items were placed has become a common problem. When an item’s location is forgotten, not only the person but also family members and caregivers often have to search for it, increasing time and effort. To reduce this burden, we implemented and evaluated the full functionality of GORRS, a service that automatically recognizes and records objects being grasped so that their locations can be traced later, with practical deployment in mind. Experimental results confirm that GORRS can help users identify where misplaced objects are located.
