Effects of Differences in Road Surface Markings on Walking Confidence of People with Low Vision -- An AR-Based Evaluation --

(in English) In this study, we conducted a walking experiment using Augmented Reality (AR) to recreate roads with different road surface structures in order to understand the impact that the installation of road surface paint has on the sense of security of people with low vision and the differences between people with normal vision. The results of a questionnaire and interview survey showed that road surface paint that clearly defines the boundaries of sidewalks has the potential to improve the sense of security of people with low vision, just like people with normal vision. On the other hand, the installation of paint that bleeds may blur the boundaries of sidewalks for people with low vision, reducing their sense of security.
