A Study on Information Embedding into Color Components in Visible Light Communication Systems based on Image Classifiers

(in English) In visible light communication using liquid crystal displays and image sensors, a communication method based on machine-learning–driven image classifiers has been proposed for information embedding. In this method, an adversarial image is generated from the information to be transmitted, and the information is conveyed through the features output by the image classifier. In contrast to the previous approach, where a single feature corresponds to the transmitted information, we propose a method that embeds different pieces of information into each color component during the generation of adversarial images, thereby increasing the information capacity. We evaluate the communication performance and image quality of the proposed method.
