Design of an Efficient AES-Based Authenticated Encryption with Associated Data

(in English) This study designs an Authenticated Encryption with Associated Data (AEAD) based on the AES-based AEAD Rocca-S.
Specifically, it aims to increase the amount of data that can be processed and improve processing speed by extending the input data length to the round function by 1.5 times while improving the ciphertext output function.
Therefore, speed experiments clarify the timing and number of times additional cryptographic operations such as XOR and AES can be performed, determining the design policy for round functions that can be executed efficiently.
Next, we evaluate the resistance to forgery attacks at the byte level for candidate improvements based on this design principle to narrow down the options.
Generally, forgery attacks are not inherently accelerated even when using quantum computers. Therefore, from a practical standpoint, this study sets the security benchmark for candidate selection at 128-bit security.
Subsequently, we narrow down the candidates through speed evaluations on Intel, AMD, and ARM CPUs to determine candidates that are both secure and fast.
As a result, we propose a scheme that guarantees 128-bit security,
achieves a 1.31x speedup in ARM software implementations, and further reduces power consumption by 25.40% in hardware implementations.
