MPC-in-the-Head Identification Scheme based on LPN Problem with Bounded Noise

(in English) We study identification schemes based on the Learning Parity with Noise (LPN) assumption, a central primitive for post-quantum cryptography. The hardness of LPN critically depends on the Hamming weight of the noise: instances with excessively small or large weight admit efficient attacks. Hence, we need practical protocols which guarantee that the noise weight lies within a specified interval. The construction of Jain et al. handles only intervals with lower bound zero and incurs soundness error 2/3, limiting its practical applicability. In this paper, we propose a new LPN-based identification protocol that guarantees the noise weight within any prescribed interval, supports freely chosen lower and upper bounds, and asymptotically achieves soundness error 1/N. We construct the new protocol using the MPC-in-the-Head paradigm of Ishai et al., combined with techniques from Feneuil’s syndrome-decoding-based identification scheme.
