Mutual Information Estimation based on Score function

(in English) We present a numerical method for estimating mutual information (MI)
in nonlinear Gaussian noise channels
using denoising score matching (DSM) learning
to estimate the score function of the channel output.
Via de Bruijn's identity,
Fisher information estimated from the learned score function
yields accurate estimates of MI
through a Fisher integral representation.
The method applies to arbitrary nonlinear front-ends
through the MI equivalence property.
Numerical experiments validate the proposed method
by comparing with closed-form solutions
and a kernel density estimation baseline.
