Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This study conducts secret key recovery experiments using the Ring-Blum-Kalai-Wasserman (Ring-BKW) algorithm with a dynamic block size for the Ring-Learning with Errors (Ring-LWE) problem and evaluates its performance. The recovery performance of the BKW algorithm depends on the number of samples after dimensionality reduction and the magnitude of errors accumulated during dimensionality reduction. While Hirose et al. successfully secured sufficient post-dimension-reduction samples using a dynamic block size, their approach tends to accumulate more errors than conventional methods during dimension reduction. They did not establish parameter tuning guidelines for error suppression or provide a quantitative evaluation of key recovery success rates.
Therefore, this study first analyzes the trade-off between securing post-reduction samples and suppressing errors using a dynamic block size, clarifying parameter setting guidelines that consider secret key recovery. Furthermore, to efficiently process samples and accelerate secret key recovery, we propose an improved secret key recovery algorithm using multidimensional Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) that leverages the structure of polynomial rings. We apply this method to samples obtained through dynamic block sizes and, through quantitative evaluation, examine the impact of block size selection on recovery performance.
