Complex-Valued Time-Domain Independent Component Analysis for Multi-Target Respiration Measurement in MIMO CW Radar

(in English) Continuous-wave (CW) radar offers a simple yet sensitive architecture for non-contact vital sign monitoring, capable of tracking multiple targets when configured with MIMO spatial diversity. To improve signal separation, this paper presents an I/Q detection MIMO CW radar system combined with the joint approximate diagonalization of eigen-matrices (JADE) ICA algorithm to explicitly exploit statistical independence among targets. Experimental results in a two-person scenario demonstrate the system's accuracy and effectiveness in successfully separating distinct respiration signals.
