A Study on an Automatic AR Partition Generation System Using Spatial Recognition and Region Partitioning Algorithms

(in English) We have proposed an AR partition system that visually and acoustically controls information propagation within the office spaces using a VR HMD and active noise-canceling headphones. However, the proposed system required manual placement of AR partitions by users, which limited its generality and immediacy with respect to office scale and desk layouts. In this study, we propose an automatic AR partition generation system by leveraging spatial recognition using sensors embedded in the HMD and Voronoi-based partitioning algorithm. This paper reports the prototype with video-passthrough HMD, interaction scenarios with AR partitions, and brief technical validations across three different office layouts.
