In mobile communication systems that provide area coverage using a multi-cell architecture, optimizing the beam tilt angles of base station antennas is essential for improving spectrum utilization efficiency. However, when a large number of base stations are irregularly deployed, jointly optimizing the tilt angle of each base station becomes extremely challenging.
In this paper, we propose a Quadratic Unconstrained Binary Optimization (QUBO) model that enables the optimization of base station beam tilt angles via quantum annealing. Furthermore, the performance of the proposed QUBO model is evaluated using a regular hexagonal cell deployment model, for which the optimal solution is known. |
