A Consideration on Temporal Consistency of Features in Emotion Estimation During Music Listening

(in English) This paper aims to estimate emotions during music listening of users based on bio-signals, with a particular focus on the temporal alignment among acoustic features, biological data, and ground-truth labels. Since temporal delays may arise in both emotional evaluations and bio-signal responses to musical stimuli, multiple conditions with different temporal alignment settings are defined and systematically compared. Specifically, analyses are conducted using datasets in which temporal shifts are applied stepwise under two alignment criteria: one based on the correspondence between acoustic features and ground-truth labels, and the other based on the correspondence between acoustic features and bio-signals. The results show that, under both conditions, the trends in estimation accuracy are consistent across individual subjects, suggesting that emotion estimation performance is influenced by the relative temporal relationship between acoustic features and bio-signals. Furthermore, the effects of temporal shifts vary across subjects, indicating the presence of individual differences.
