Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Japan’s super-aging society has intensified the shortage of healthcare workers, increasing the demand for efficient and reliable screening for cognitive decline. Drawing-based neuropsychological tests are widely used to assess cognitive function; however, conventional scoring typically relies on the final drawing only, and the rich information embedded in the drawing process (e.g., stroke order and pauses) has not been fully leveraged. We have developed EVIDENT2.0, a web-based system that records and visualizes detailed drawing-process data. Yet, two issues hinder the practical use of such process data for automated scoring: (1) the correspondence between individual strokes and semantic drawing components (e.g., outer circle, hands, and numerals) is not explicitly represented, and (2) there is insufficient support for clinicians to validate and correct assigned tags, which may degrade dataset quality. In this study, we implement a stroke-level tagging function that enables clinicians to assign meaningful tags to selected strokes, and we further provide a review interface in EVIDENT-ADMIN that visualizes tagged drawings by separating strokes according to tags. These functions facilitate component-wise feature extraction and evidence-based explanations of scoring outcomes, while enabling the construction of a high-quality tagged dataset for future machine-learning-based automated scoring of drawing tests.
