Basic study on waveform separation of electromagnetic radiated noise by independent vector analysis

(in English) Previously, studies have been conducted using independent component analysis (ICA) as a technique for separating and extracting independent components from waveforms containing multiple frequency components radiated into space. However, while ICA is suitable for instantaneous mixture models, it does not take into account propagation delays due to factors such as the distance of the receiving antenna. Therefore, waveform separation in actual radio wave propagation environments requires consideration of a convolutive mixing model that includes propagation delays. In this paper, we operate two signal generators independently and verify whether it is possible to separate and extract independent components by applying independent vector analysis (IVA), which has been proposed as an effective algorithm for the convolutive mixing model, to the radiated noise waveforms radiated into space from the antenna.
