On-Orbit Calibration Method for Membrane-Deployable Reconfigurable Reflectarrays for Satellite Applications

(in English) This paper proposes an on-orbit calibration method for membrane-deployable reconfigurable reflectarrays and experimentally validates non-flatness compensation and electronic beam steering under aperture deformation. The method combines ground-based and on-orbit RF measurements with element position measurements to estimate each element’s position and excitation phase characteristics under orbital conditions. Experiments using a 2 × 10-element reflectarray at 5.8 GHz show that gain degradation due to deformation is reduced from 2.52 dB to 0.13 dB. Beam steering from 0 to 30 deg is achieved under deformation with a pointing error below 2.1 deg.
