STPA (System Theoretic Process Analysis) is an effective method for safety analysis of complex systems. However, as the analysis progresses, the number of loss scenarios becomes enormous, making it difficult to identify duplicates and derive countermeasures. This study proposes a method specialized for organizing loss scenarios after identification by applying the tree structure of GSN (Goal Structuring Notation). The proposed method reinterprets GSN node concepts for hierarchical organization of loss scenarios, realizing a structure where countermeasures for higher-level scenarios can be applied to lower-level scenarios. We implemented the method as a plugin for astah* System Safety and conducted a comparative experiment with 10 graduate students. The results showed that while Excel was superior in task completion rate, the proposed tool excelled in ease of duplicate detection and satisfaction with output quality. These results suggest that GSN-based visualization supports the comprehension of loss scenario structures. |
