Improving the Accuracy of Material Identification of Joruri Puppet Head Using Correction of Identification Results by U-NET

(in English) In this study, we develop a material classification framework of a puppet head using X-ray CT images for digital archiving of Ningyo Joruri which is a traditional Japanese puppet theater. A method using U-Net model is first applied for five-class segmentation, followed by a two-stage correction framework consisting of a 3D CNN for misclassified location detection and an lmKAN model for material relabeling. Experimental results show that our proposed method improves the accuracy for all materials, particularly reducing errors caused by metal artifacts and clarifying material boundaries.
