| 抄録 | （和） | 年齢認識および性別認識の精度は，認識するための手法，人物画像のデータセット，クラス間のサンプル数に偏りが生じるクラス不均衡といった要因により変動しうる． しかし，複数の要因の組み合わせによる網羅的検証は手間が膨大である上，どの要因が精度変化に支配的か明らかではないため，実応用に即した適切な実験指針が不明瞭となっている． そこで本稿では，分散分析の一種であるAligned Rank Transformを用いて，上記3つの要因が精度変化に及ぼす影響を統計的に検証した． 年齢認識では，全ての要因において精度変化への主効果があり，特に手法とデータセットとが強く影響することを確認した． 性別認識でも，全ての要因において精度変化への主効果があり，特に手法が強く影響することを確認した． また，要因間の交互作用も年齢認識と性別認識において確認された． 実験結果より，精度変化へ特に影響を及ぼす手法について，多様性をもって実験をした方が好ましいという実験指針が得られた． |
| （英） | The accuracy of age recognition and gender recognition can vary depending on factors such as the recognition method, the dataset of person images, and class imbalance, i.e., skewed sample counts across classes. However, an exhaustive evaluation over combinations of multiple factors is highly labor-intensive, and it is unclear which factors predominantly drive the accuracy variation; consequently, appropriate experimental guidelines for practical applications remain ambiguous. Therefore, in this paper, we statistically investigate the effects of the above three factors on accuracy variation using the Aligned Rank Transform, a type of analysis of variance. For age recognition, we confirm significant main effects of all factors on accuracy variation, with the method and the dataset exerting particularly strong influences. For gender recognition, we also confirm significant main effects of all factors, with the method showing a particularly strong influence. In addition, interaction effects among factors are observed for both age recognition and gender recognition. From these experimental results, we derive a practical guideline that it is preferable to evaluate a diverse set of recognition methods, as the method factor has a particularly large impact on accuracy variation. | |
