SkyOne Mirror: A Screenshot-Based Lifelogging and Content Curation Framework for Contextual Recall and Reflection
Te Meng, Shin'ichi Konomi (Kyudai) LOIS2026-6
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) As personal digital activities span a growing ecosystem of screen-equipped devices, screenshots have become an easy but cluttered medium for information capture.
The sheer volume of these visual logs causes fragmentation and retrieval challenges, as the lack of context hinders users' ability to recall the circumstances and locate specific information.
Navigating old screenshots requires extra user effort, and retrieving information from such images is difficult without original context.
We present SkyOne Mirror, a content management framework for personal screenshot archives.
SkyOne Mirror employs automated content curation to generate multi-layered metadata accessible to both humans and VLMs, including tags and natural language descriptions.
SkyOne Mirror also incorporates privacy safeguards by flagging sensitive content and providing user control over storage and curation.
We describe an evaluation method on diverse datasets of PC and smart device screenshots, benchmarking SkyOne Mirror against a simple archive of screenshots.
Our evaluation focuses on the accuracy of VLM-based information retrieval as a simulation of users searching for past events.
We expect that SkyOne Mirror can significantly reduce the cognitive load of contextualization, allowing users to recall and reflect on screenshots with higher precision than gallery browsing, or the conventional approach of optical character recognition coupled with natural language processing.
This work contributes a scalable architecture for screenshot-based lifelogging, balancing the constraints of computational resources with the ever-growing need of preserving personal digital memory.
