We devised and implemented a method for teaching the concept of deterministic chaos in approximately 30 minutes to one hour, assuming students have only elementary school-level math knowledge. The lecture was divided into two parts: the first half focused on the concept of discrete mappings, while the second half centered on the mechanisms that generate chaos. While the mappings covered were limited to the tent map, the shift map, and the Gaussian map, terminology and categories were included in the slides to allow students to conduct their own search. The explanation also touched on the second law of thermodynamics and the incompleteness theorem, providing a glimpse into the depth of chaos. |
