[Invited Talk] Multi-Criteria Decision-Based Resource Management in Wi-Fi 7: Toward Integrated Control in MLO-Enabled WLANs

(in English) Wireless local area networks (WLANs) are expected to achieve higher throughput and lower latency with the emergence of IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) and its key feature, Multi-Link Operation (MLO). Meanwhile, the expansion of available spectrum, including the newly introduced 6 GHz band, and the emergence of new applications such as Wi-Fi sensing have significantly increased the complexity of resource management. As a result, optimization problems in channel allocation, user association, and transmission control have become more challenging.
In this talk, we present a series of studies that apply multi-criteria decision-making approaches, specifically the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP), to these complex control problems. Through applications to dynamic spectrum sharing, AP-STA association, and transmission mode control, we demonstrate the effectiveness of an integrated resource management framework that accounts for trade-offs among multiple performance metrics. Finally, we discuss future directions for wireless network control.
