Transmission Delay-Aware Packet Trimming Control

(in English) As the system for AI services is growing, it is becoming neccessary to cooperate computing resources data centers spreding among various location accommodate.
The data sharing among GPUs the AI processing entails requires networks that provide high throughput and low-latency data transmission. Packet drops at switches extends the latency due to packet retransmission and drops the throughput the traffic congestion control for the AI traffic suppresses data transsmission rate.
Suppressing the transmission rate only when output queues at the switches is about to overflow is a solution. However, it is difficult to avoid the retransmission completely because AI processing has short and massive bursts suddenly.

We propose a method to reduce the maximum transmission time of the data flow that are involved in a single data sharing among GPUs and reduce the total data transmission time within a single AI processing.
The feature of our method is to protect inter-datacenter flows whose propagation delays are relatively longer than intra-data center flows and reduce the number of regransmission for the packets of the protected flows.
