Seasonal Variation of Rain Attenuation Characteristics Using BS Signals

(in English) Recent changes in rainfall characteristics may affect the stability of satellite communication links. In this study, the cumulative time percentage distributions of rain attenuation were calculated and compared on a monthly basis using BS signal observation data obtained at the Satellite Communications Research Facility of Osaka Electro-Communication University. The results were used to quantitatively investigate seasonal differences in rain attenuation characteristics.
