In inter-satellite optical communications, relative motion between terminals induces angular misalignment between transmitted and received beams due to light aberration, as well as frequency offsets caused by Doppler shift. As the light aberration increases, the received optical power decreases, leading to degradation in communication quality. In addition, large Doppler shift-induced frequency offsets can hinder signal demodulation, particularly in coherent communication systems. Therefore, quantitative evaluation of these effects is essential for assessing link feasibility and performance. Furthermore, line-of-sight conditions between terminals are indispensable for link establishment. This paper quantitatively investigates light aberration and Doppler shift in Earth–Moon inter-satellite optical communication links while considering visibility constraints. |
