Device-free object detection techniques using radio signals have attracted increasing attention, where channel state information (CSI) obtained in wireless local area networks (WLANs) is utilized as effective feature data to estimate the location and behavior of target objects.
However, the performance of CSI-based detection methods is strongly affected by feature design and surrounding environments.
In this paper, we experimentally evaluate the detection performance of multiple objects using CSI in WLAN systems under various indoor environments.
In particular, we investigate how the placement of access points (APs) and stations (STAs) affects object detection performance. |
