A study on standing waves in ring-shaped nonreciprocal CRLH transmission Lines

(in English) A nonreciprocal composite right/left-handed transmission line (G-CRLH-TL), composed of a periodic structure with unit cells loaded with a gyrator and a series capacitor C enables easily frequency tuning property by controlling C, offering high tunability. In this paper, a ring-shaped G-CRLH-TL is investigated through theoretical analysis and numerical simulations. The results reveal that, when the number of unit cells is odd, the inherent nonreciprocity—characterized by a π phase difference between forward and backward propagation—prevents the formation of standing waves, and only a unidirectional traveling wave propagating around the ring exists.
