[Technology Exhibit] Non-Perfusion Area Segmentation from an OCTA Image

(in English) Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) is a non-invasive imaging technique that enables visualization of intraocular blood flow, allowing simultaneous assessment of vascular structures and hemodynamic information. In particular, OCTA is capable of depicting microvasculature at the capillary level with high resolution. However, accurate
extraction of Non-Perfusion Areas (NPAs), which are caused by capillary occlusion and dropout, remains challenging due to the influence of image noise. In this study, we introduce the Comparative Constraint Model (CCModel) proposed by Xue et al.
[5] to achieve robust and accurate NPA extraction while reducing noise effects. Furthermore, in addition to conventional area-based evaluation metrics, Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis is applied to establish a novel evaluation
framework for NPA assessment.
