Designing a schedule coordination application for the sustainable activities of resident volunteers

(in English) This study proposes a schedule coordination application design for resident volunteer drivers and attendants operating Green Slow Mobility in Makuhari Bay Town, Chiba. We developed a calendar-based voting UI that simplifies operations, provides immediate feedback, and intentionally hides other participants' voting status. A usability test with 22 users revealed that this design improved information comprehension, enhanced efficiency, and reduced user anxiety. Additionally, successfully hiding others' statuses encouraged independent decision-making among inexperienced users or those without established voting habits. Conversely, the findings indicated that this same lack of visibility made it more difficult for experienced users to determine their preferred dates.
