Online Surveillance Behavior in Instagram Use After Romantic Breakups -- An Empirical Examination Based on Attachment Theory and the Investment Model --

(in English) This study focuses on surveillance behaviors on Instagram following the dissolution of romantic relationships, examining the effects of attachment styles and relationship factors (e.g., investment size and the abundance of alternative partners). A questionnaire survey was conducted with young adults aged 18 to 29. The results indicated that attachment anxiety, investment size, and a perceived abundance of alternative partners were associated with surveillance behaviors. The associations between these factors and surveillance behavior were identified in the context of Instagram, a visually oriented platform. Overall, the findings suggest the importance of considering not only individual factors but also platform characteristics in understanding post-breakup interpersonal behaviors.
