This study evaluated the effects of exercise at the anaerobic threshold (AT) on autonomic nervous activity and concentration. Autonomic nervous activity was assessed using heart rate variability (HRV) and photoplethysmography (PPG), while concentration was quantified using the Inverse Efficiency Score (IES) calculated from an invoice classification task. The AT was determined using the double product breakpoint (DPBP), and the exercise intervention condition based on this intensity was compared with a non-intervention condition. As a result, lower IES values were observed under the exercise intervention condition, indicating improved concentration performance. In addition, a significant difference in the LF/HF ratio was observed during the first half of the task, whereas no significant difference was found during the latter half. Furthermore, time-series analysis revealed that the IES in the exercise intervention condition showed low values during the early phase of the task, fluctuated during the middle phase, and decreased again during the latter phase. These findings suggest that exercise intervention at AT intensity may induce a high concentration state at the beginning of the task and may also play a regulatory role in fluctuations of concentration over time. |
