Although direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) is effective for long-distance underwater acoustic communications, it is susceptible to the effects of the Doppler shift. When the received signal is affected by both Doppler shift and multipath, it is difficult to fully correct the distortion. This study proposes a communication method, DSSS-PMF, that can handle both effects by performing correlation calculations in the passband region and demodulation timing correction. Through water tank tests, we evaluated the communication characteristics under conditions of high-speed movement and accelerating motion of the terminal and confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed method. |
