In recent years, speaker recognition based on deep learning has become highly accurate, and speaker embedding extractors such as ECAPA-TDNN are widely used.
On the other hand, acquiring high-performance speaker embeddings strongly depends on supervised learning using speaker labels, making the design of self-supervised pre-training suitable for speaker recognition an important challenge.
In this study, we propose a method to train a speaker embedding extractor using Mel-spectrogram restoration via diffusion models as self-supervised pre-training.
By incorporating ECAPA-TDNN into a DiffVC-style conditional diffusion model, we reflect the speaker information necessary for restoration into the embeddings.
Evaluations using VoxCeleb1-O showed that performance exceeding the supervised baseline was achieved through fine-tuning after pre-training. |
