(in English) At OFC 2026, against the backdrop of the rapid expansion of AI data centers, the focus of optical networking discussions was rapidly shifting toward intra–data center scale-up and scale-out, as well as scale-across architectures on the wide-area network side. In particular, presentations related to Data Center Interconnection (DCI) clearly reflected a design mindset in which DCI is treated not merely as a high-capacity transmission link, but as an integral part of AI workloads. In addition to such networks for AI, another strong trend was the use of AI for network control, namely the increasing intelligence of network operation and monitoring.
