In 5G New Radio (NR), multi-TRP Coherent Joint Transmission (CJT), in which multiple base stations cooperatively and simultaneously transmit the same data, is expected to improve the transmission reliability of the Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH). However, cooperative transmission using multiple TRPs requires a method that can achieve both signal confidentiality and low-overhead auxiliary information transmission while maintaining communication performance. This study proposes a method for simultaneously realizing physical layer encryption and information embedding by applying Chaotic Phase Rotation (CPR) to QPSK-modulated symbols in multi-TRP CJT-based PDSCH transmission. In the proposed method, chaotic phase sequences generated from a shared key and embedded bit sequences are applied to DATA Resource Elements (REs), thereby enabling key-dependent signal confidentiality and embedded information representation through a single phase-rotation process. Computer simulations using a 3GPP TDL-A channel show that the proposed method achieves a Transport Block BLER of 10^-3 at almost the same required SNR as the baseline scheme without information embedding. The results also show that the proposed method enables the transmission of up to 10 embedded bits per frame, achieves better embedded information detection performance than conventional phase-rotation-based information embedding methods, and provides physical layer confidentiality. |
