Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper addresses joint channel and carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimation for uplink multi-user multi-input multi-output orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (MU-MIMO-OFDM) systems and proposes a delay-domain denoising framework in message space. The method exploits delay-domain channel structure while remaining compatible with existing frequency-domain OFDM/JCCE receivers. Instead of reformulating the entire receiver in the time domain, it transforms only the Gaussian messages associated with pilot-subcarrier channel estimates, generated by the moment-matching step of matched filter expectation propagation (MF-EP), into an effective delay domain and feeds the denoised messages back to frequency-domain JCCE. In the denoising stage, taps outside the cyclic prefix (CP) are removed by deterministic support projection, whereas taps inside the CP are processed by sparse Bernoulli-Gaussian modeling with expectation-maximization (EM)-based parameter updates. Thus, delay-domain channel structure can be incorporated with limited additional processing beyond conventional frequency-domain Gaussian denoising. Simulation results show clear estimation gains over conventional frequency-domain JCCE and bit-error-rate performance close to the ideal case with perfect channel and CFO knowledge.
