In global navigation satellite system (GNSS) positioning, the accuracy degrades due to interference between direct and delayed waves received in multipath environments such as urban areas.
To address this issue, this study proposes a positioning correction method based on neural network (NN) that leverages features that quantitatively capture signal distortion caused by multipath as inputs.
The input features include the E (Early), P (Prompt), and L (Late) correlator outputs, which represent the distortion of the correlation function as discrete sample points, together with the short-time moving standard deviation of the Doppler frequency, which serves as signal quality information capturing frequency variations caused by multipath.
To learn signal patterns that vary temporally, we employ long short-term memory (LSTM), enabling position estimation that leverages the time-series structure.
Using observation data collected at the Kyotanabe Campus of Doshisha University, we evaluate positioning accuracy and confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method through comparison with single point positioning (SPP). |
