This paper proposes a method to select a set of transmission reception points (TRPs) to be connected to each user equipment (UE) that maximizes the system throughput, defined as the generalized mean of user throughputs, in uplink distributed multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems. In the proposed method, each TRP group independently informs all UEs of supplementary information regarding interference power and the allocated bandwidth for newly connected UEs. Based on this information, each UE calculates a metric to select a TRP group that maximizes system throughput, taking into account the interference power caused by its own transmit power to other UEs, and feeds back the largest metric to the corresponding TRP group. Finally, each TRP group determines which UE is newly connected based on the reported metrics. By repeating the above process, the TRP group selection that maximizes system throughput is achieved through autonomous, decentralized control. Computer simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method compared to the conventional method. |
