Edge-Preserving Smoothing with Suppressed Artifacts using a Combination of ISES Filter and Guided Filter

(in English) In this study, we propose a method to suppress false textures (artifacts) that occur during the computation process in the ISES filter, which performs smoothing based on structural scale. The proposed method utilizes a two-stage configuration that applies a guided filter using the output of the ISES filter as a guide image. Experimental results confirmed the effectiveness of the method in both visual quality and quantitative evaluation, demonstrating its ability to selectively suppress small-scale false textures while preserving main structures.
