Outdoor Communication Experiments of LoRa for Ultra-Low Bitrate Video Transmission

(in English) In recent years, with the spread of the Internet of Things (IoT), LoRa—a communication standard capable of low-power, long-range communication—has been gaining attention. LoRa is being utilized to build communication infrastructure for purposes such as sensing data collection in areas where cellular networks are underdeveloped. The authors are conducting research on video transmission methods using LoRa and plan to conduct field trials for outdoor environmental monitoring in the future. Prior to these outdoor field trials, it is necessary to verify the relationship between communication distance and LoRa parameter settings for payload lengths that enable video transmission. In this report, we present the results of an evaluation of the relationship between payload length and communication parameters conducted outdoors.
