Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) As the practical application of wireless power transfer (WPT) for electric vehicles (EVs) progresses, assessing human safety in high-power systems—such as WPT 3 (11 kW) as defined by SAE J2954—has become a major challenge. In the evaluation of electromagnetic field exposure in the low-frequency band, methods based on the quasi-static approximation that consider only the real-part magnetic field are widely used; however, in actual magnetic coupling-type WPT systems, a magnetic field distribution with complex amplitude is formed due to the phase difference in current between the transmitter and receiver coils. In this paper, we performed an analysis of induced electric fields in the human body taking into account complex-amplitude magnetic fields as input via the SPFD method, and assessed compliance around the power transmission and reception coils at the WPT 3 level. The analysis suggested that, under conditions where the current in the receiving coil has a 90-degree phase difference relative to the current in the transmitting coil, the induced electric fields in the body may satisfy the basic restrictions even in regions where the magnetic field strength exceeds the reference level. This highlighted the conservativeness of evaluations based on reference levels and the importance of estimating effective safety areas through detailed analysis based on fundamental limits.
