(in English) This paper presents a high-performance AVX2 implementation of the post-quantum cryptographic scheme NTRU with the parameter set hps40961229.
Currently, the AVX2 implementation of hps40961229 is not supported in the widely used open-source post-quantum cryptography library, liboqs.
To address this issue, we develop AVX2-based implementations of polynomial multiplication and polynomial inversion for hps40961229 and evaluate their performance.
Experimental results show that the proposed implementation reduces the cycle counts for key generation, encapsulation, and decapsulation by approximately 92.0%, 71.7%, and 79.3%, respectively, compared with the existing liboqs implementation.
In particular, the polynomial inversion operation is further accelerated by combining an AVX2 implementation with a five-way Karatsuba multiplication method and optimizing the addition chain for inversion in moduli 2.
