(in English) Age estimation from finger vein images has been concluded to be difficult due to the bias in age distribution in public datasets.
This paper proposes an age estimation method from finger vein images using a large-scale dataset with balanced age distribution.
To achieve high-accuracy age estimation, the proposed method captures global changes in veins by combining features obtained from three fingers.
Furthermore, by simultaneously estimating age and gender, the proposed method considers gender as a confounding factor.
A set of experiments demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method and the feasibility of age estimation from vein images.
