Recently, the demand for video transmission from vehicles has been increasing to enhance customer experience in motorsport environments such as rally competitions. However, such environments often lack communication infrastructure, including cellular networks, and require wireless systems that enable rapid deployment and dismantling. In this study, we construct a video transmission system based on a 5.7 GHz mesh network and evaluate the relationship between communication quality and video quality through field experiments. Experiments are conducted under both point-to-point transmission and mesh network configurations. We analyze communication metrics such as the received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and quantify the perceptual quality of received video using a no-reference video quality assessment (VQA) method. The results show that communication degradation due to obstruction and increased transmission distance affects video quality, and that the use of relay nodes in a mesh configuration extends communication coverage and reduces video-quality degradation areas. |
