[Poster Presentation] A Communication-Quality-Oriented Route Choice Method Considering Inter-Cell Interference in Mobile Networks

(in English) In mobile networks, users' route choices affect not only their travel time but also the communication quality they experience during movement. In particular, when users concentrate on routes expected to provide high throughput, the actual throughput may decrease due to the sharing of radio resources at the serving cell and increased interference from neighboring cells. In this paper, we define the SINR and throughput for each road segment based on received power, cell load, and inter-cell interference and propose a communication-quality-oriented stochastic route selection method by extending an existing multi-agent path planning framework. In the proposed method, the route selection probabilities are updated so as to maximize the throughput of each agent and achieve an equilibrium state called user equilibrium. Numerical experiments show that, compared with travel-time-oriented route selection, the proposed method slightly increases the average travel time but improves the harmonic mean of throughput.
