We have been conducting pilot tests of a business improvement model (self-operation model) in which childcare workers build and operate information systems themselves to improve their own workflows. In this paper, drawing on previous cases where childcare workers developed systems using no-code/low-code tools, we focus on a voltage drop incident that occurred spontaneously after the installation of electronic locks at a newly participating facility. The system supporting extended childcare pick-up and drop-off became unstable following the installation of the electronic locks. Given that issues such as Raspberry Pi reboots and USB device malfunctions occurred, it was considered possible that the condition of the power infrastructure was one of the contributing factors. Childcare providers aiming for self- operation cannot directly evaluate power quality and cannot address this issue with knowledge of the application and device layers alone. This paper raises issues with the self- operation model through this incident and discusses the measurement of equipment operating voltage limits and methods for detecting warning signs as topics for future investigation. |
