Terrestrial Interference Canceller Having an Auxiliary Antenna with Elevational Directivity in NTN

(in English) In recent years, non-terrestrial networks (NTNs), having attracted significant attention because, they can extend the service area of mobile communication networks three-dimensionally. However, since there are almost no new frequency bands available for NTNs, interference issues are expected in the future that they would share the same frequency bands among NTNs and terrestrial networks (TN). As one of the interference compensation techniques, high-power signal cancellers have studied in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in TN. However, it is very difficult for NOMA type cancellers to compensate unknown interferences or the interferences with small received signal power differences between the desired and the interference signals.
Therefore, assuming a GEO system as the desired NTN, a new interference canceller has been proposed that employs an auxiliary antenna to receive only the TN interference signal. It extracts the TN interference signal and generates the replica of the TN interference signal, and subtracts the replica from the received signals at NTN parabolic antenna.
In this paper, we newly consider the elevational directivity of the auxiliary antenna, and it will be indicated the performances of the proposed interference canceller.
