[Poster Presentation] Performance Evaluation of MQTT over QUIC in LEO Satellite Communication Environments

(in English) With the rapid proliferation of IoT devices and next-generation networks such as Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite communications, QUIC---designed to overcome the limitations of TCP by leveraging UDP---has gained significant attention.
This paper evaluates the performance of MQTT over QUIC through network emulations.
Our findings reveal that QUIC outperforms TCP in terms of message transmission time under emulated LEO satellite conditions characterized by propagation delays and bandwidth limitations.
Furthermore, we validate QUIC's superiority in a real-world LEO satellite network environment using Starlink.
