To realize high-speed, large-capacity satellite direct-to-device (D2D) communication, feederless active phased array for satellite formation flying, which consists of a primary satellite and a very large number of secondary satellites, is being investigated.
This paper proposes an optimization method considering hardware constraints of secondary satellites to implement single-polarization and -frequency multi-user communication.
Numerical analysis demonstrates that the proposed method achieves a channel capacity 2.9 times higher than that of time-division duplexing (TDD).
Furthermore, the results reveal that the channel capacity are fundamentally determined by the geometrical configurations of the primary and secondary satellites and ground terminals. |
