The sub-THz band, particularly the 300~GHz band, is a promising candidate for 100~Gbps-class short-range wireless access by exploiting its wide available bandwidth. However, large propagation loss and high blockage sensitivity make it challenging to ensure link robustness and channel capacity. This paper presents a site-specific evaluation of dual-beam MIMO transmission for 300~GHz mobile access using multipath components (MPCs) and RIS-enhanced reflection paths. Based on ray-tracing with measurement-based MPC power correction, we compare the capacities of LoS single-beam transmission, dual-beam MIMO using the LoS path and the strongest MPC, and dual-beam MIMO using the LoS path and an RIS-assisted reflection path. The results show that the capacity improvement obtained using only environmental MPCs is limited, whereas strengthening weak reflection paths on a link-by-link basis using an RIS can improve the spectral efficiency. |
