| （英） | We study the problem of selecting low-weight dual codewords for local peeling decoding of short binary linear codes. Each dual codeword gives a parity-check equation. When its support intersects the current erasure set in exactly one position, the corresponding erased symbol can be recovered as the sum of known symbols. For a fixed ordered family of dual codewords, we define a local peeling decoding profile consisting of the number of implemented dual codewords, the maximum locality, the total weight, the failure rate, the average number of additions over successful cases, and the average number of dual-codeword tests over successful cases. By exhaustive enumeration for the Hamming $[7,4,3]$ code and the extended Hamming $[8,4,4]$ code, we show that even under the same underlying code, the same locality constraint, and the same number of implemented dual codewords, the behavior of local peeling decoding can change depending on the choice of the dual-codeword family. |
