| （英） | In containerized cloud environments, container image acquisition affects task start times and overall makespan, especially when multiple transfers compete for bandwidth. This paper considers a setting in which a task can obtain its required image either from a remote repository or from another host that already stores the same image. The proposed NHEFT scheduler autonomously chooses between these two image-acquisition paths and estimates the resulting image-ready time while explicitly considering bandwidth contention among concurrent transfers. We compare HEFT, DHEFT, and NHEFT under different levels of total communication intensity and under different relationships between data communication and image communication. The results suggest that the bandwidth-aware strategy tends to improve makespan mainly in communication-heavy conditions, especially when image communication occupies a larger share of the total communication cost and the required container image sizes are larger, but this gain is accompanied by the use of more computational resources. | |
